End Tables
Crates made from our 3/4 inch pure pine or 3/8 inch pure oak are the best built sturdy crates you will find for sale anywhere. While you can buy them at many big box retailers the quality has something missing, and if you start using them, they are prone to break and fall apart. At North Rustic Design we use our Badger Tough dual construction method and sand them to perfection. We can leave them unfinished or we stain in 17 different colors. We have product pictures and videos for each of our products. You can watch me try to break our crates in these videos to see how tough they are. Whether you are using our crates as an end table or night stand they offer that classic style in a new construction that you know won’t fall apart on you when you use them.
Coffee Tables
While we offer fully constructed no assembly required wood crate coffee tables for sale and round crate tables for sale many or our customers want a crate table that is bigger than is economically feasible to ship. For the DYI’ers out there our wood crates are perfect to use if you want to do-it-yourself, just not all of it yourself. Staining can be fun and we even have a How to stain a Wood Crate article, but staining wood crates is not as fun as it is made out to be, I know I’ve stained 10,000’s over the years. Once you know the size of the crates you want they are arranged in the pattern as in the picture below. You are ready to build your perfect coffee table.
Bookshelves
It might seem old fashioned to actually read books and have them around to some but I come from the generation before the internet. I used to teach and was educated at UWEC in the North Woods of Wisconsin. So I have plenty of books around and my 3 kids like to quiz me on them from time to time. We’ve all seen and have probably owned bookshelves that look nice on the package picture, but once you get done putting them together you wished there was another way. That’s where our sturdy wood crates come in. A popular arrangement is 3 in the center and 1 on each side vertical like in the top picture of this page. They really add a nice look to any room or business. Some of our customers have gone “Crate Crazy” and lined there whole wall with crates. It really is up to your imagination on the size and arrangement style. Our large wood crates are a very popular choice for making shelving units for your books and other knickknacks. My mother who is recently retired from the same company after 42 years was given a watch. Really, a watch, maybe she should have gotten a nice parting gift crate with a beautiful company logo on that she would actually keep around for decor and storage. For years people looking to buy them typically had to use old vintage crates or the companies that manufactured them had a few standard sizes that you had to live with. At North Rustic Design we didn’t start out with the largest selection standard wood crates , which includes 5 distinct styles, 45 standard sizes, and 17 different colors, but after working very closely with our customers we have them to offer today. We also do custom wood crates and work with Sherwin-Williams to match any customer color you would need to have a perfect match in your store. Crates work great for Point of Purchase Displays and for retail risers because not only are they durable, you can move them around to change your look when you need to. Photography and Movie Props
My oldest daughter Sophia has a very outgoing personality. When I got a call from the producer of Dancing with the Stars she was trying to get the number out of me so she could call and try to get on the show! We may not be famous at North Rustic Design, but many of our crates are! When museums are looking for sturdy vintage looking crates we have been called upon many times to give them the feel of the era they are replicating for an exhibit. Our crate have been used in Music Videos, Sitcoms, and Movies.
Photography studios like to use our crates for props for photo shoots. They are very popular because of our large selection of styles and colors, along with the durability they offer.
